Lakeview began offering a holistic approach to care through integrative medicine in 1998. Integrative medicine offers nontraditional therapies as a way to relieve pain, reduce stress and enhance recovery. With the support of our medical staff, Lakeview has effectively incorporated integrative therapies into our standards of care. Patients may benefit from the healing effects of:
- Aromatherapy through the use of pure essential oils to enhance pain relief, reduce stress and promote feelings of peace and relaxation.
- Massage therapy, offering pain relief and stress reduction. To schedule a session call (651) 246-2797.
- Therapeutic relaxation, including the soothing sounds, music and visuals of nature through the CARE channel.
- Reiki practitioners, usually facilitated by light, non-manipulative touch to a clothed recipient.
- Healing touch offered by volunteer practitioners for patients and/or family members. Healing touch works with your energy field to support your natural ability to heal.
- Spirituality through chaplaincy services, use of our chapel, meditation and prayer. Lakeview Hospital also sponsors the St. Croix Valley Parish Nursing Program, which provides health and wellness programs and services to area churches.
- Pet therapy provided by visiting certified therapy dogs. Studies have shown that pet therapy can be therapeutic in some situations.
